Annie Gist M.S., CCC-SLP

Annie Gist, M.S., CCC-SLP joined Monkey Mouths, LLC in July 2015 as a speech pathologist graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining Monkey Mouths, Annie previously worked at HCR Manor Care Health Services and completed her clinical fellowship there. Annie was the president of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association at UTD during graduate school. She is proficient in assistive technology integration including clinically relevant use of the iPad, and she is also proficient in American Sign Language. Annie has been trained in the Sound Card SystemPROMPT therapy, Talk Tools Oral-Motor Placement TherapyLori Overland Sensory-Motor Feeding Therapy, Nancy Kaufman Apraxia System, and Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI). Annie believes creating a fun and encouraging therapy environment that is centered on each child’s needs is critical for learning and accomplishing new skills. She hopes to empower children and their families to feel comfortable working on ideas and concepts in their home environment for maximum carry-over of newly learned skills. In her free time she enjoys doing arts and crafts, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Mason, and their dog Sammy.
