I’m Anna Appleby, OTR, and I joined Monkey Mouths in 2025 as a Occupational Therapist. I earned my undergraduate degree from Norwich University in Northfield, VT and my Graduate degree from Sage Graduate Schools in Troy, NY. Prior to Monkey Mouths, I have had experience working in school and private practice.
As a pediatric occupational therapist, I believe that building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families/caregivers creates the foundation for meaningful progress. I pride myself on bringing fun and creativity into each session, using play to connect and engage. I prioritize meeting each child’s regulation needs first, in order to create a safe and supportive space, before placing any demands — Regulation before Expectation!! This approach not only fosters confidence and cooperation but also ensures therapy feels enjoyable and empowering for every child. I’m also never afraid to have a little (or a lot) of silly fun if it means a child is engaged. Dance party anyone?!
In my spare time I enjoy pilates, reading, hanging out with my husband and dog (a Mini Aussie named Callo), tending to my wildflowers, watching birds on my bird feeder (that has a camera to capture pictures!), game nights with friends, and video calling family when I can as they live all over the east coast and even in another country!
As an OT since 2020, I have training and specialization in the following:
