I’m Caitlin Hespe, Lead Occupational Therapist at the Southlake and Haslet Monkey Mouths clinics. I joined Monkey Mouths in 2021 and bring more than 12 years of experience supporting children and their families through individualized, strengths‑based care. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University in 2010, where I also played collegiate softball, and completed my master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the College of Saint Mary in 2013. These experiences shaped my foundation in movement science, child development, and family‑centered practice.
I often describe myself as a professional problem solver. I love partnering with families to truly understand their child’s needs and to create meaningful, practical solutions that support daily life. My clinical passions include sensory processing differences, reflex integration, behavioral and emotional regulation, functional play, and helping children build the foundational skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities. I also have a strong interest in handwriting and visual‑motor development, including supporting children with dyslexia and dysgraphia through targeted handwriting and vision‑based intervention strategies.
I believe deeply in the power of connection and play, and I hold closely to the idea that “every child’s potential grows when the adults around them believe in their possibilities.” That belief guides my commitment to improving each child’s confidence, participation, and everyday experiences.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two and enjoy a full, active life with my husband. I coach a select softball team—blending my love of athletics with mentorship—and spend my downtime playing guitar and baking sourdough bread.
As an OT, I have training and specialization in the following:
