I’m Gabriella Chapa, M.S., CCC-SLP, and I joined Monkey Mouths in 2025 as a speech-language pathologist. I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and my master’s degree from University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. Prior to Monkey Mouths, I worked in private practice and school.
I strive to build genuine connections and strong relationships with my patients and their families. I believe in the importance of feeling connected to people who you are on the same team with! When I meet a new kiddo, my first priority is creating a space that feels safe, comfortable, and welcoming. I focus on building a foundation of trust that they can truly feel. If that means sitting back and watching from a distance while they solo-play before ever entering their space, or simply (or enthusiastically) narrating their actions before modeling new actions to use with their comfort toys, I’m more than happy to do. Patience is definitely a virtue, but it’s also a gift! I absolutely love teaching my kids, but just as much, I love learning from them.
In my spare time I enjoy cycling, reading Colleen Hoover books and spending quality time with my family and close friends!
