I’m Mackenzie Sherwood, OTD, OTR, and I joined Monkey Mouths in 2025 as an occupational therapist. I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and my doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Prior to joining Monkey Mouths, I gained experience in private practice.
I love implementing play-based therapy! One of my favorite things about working with kids is finding fun ways to weave their interests into interventions sessions. I address goals while also making sure that my clients have choices that promote their autonomy. It is truly inspiring to help them grow their confidence and become more independent!
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new coffee shops, taking group fitness classes, trying new cuisines, and watching reality TV shows with my friends!
