This will be an 8-week structured therapy group designed to support children with dyslexia through a multisensory, neurodevelopmental approach. The program integrates:
Participants will work on building the following skills:
Take a sample peek at our 2 hour session structure to see how much your child will learn and grow in our classroom! We start with technical warm ups and exercises, helping us see your child’s unique situation and then build from there, eventually putting everything into application. We even help create a home strategy for further work outside of the class.
(25-30 minutes)
Purpose: Retained primitive reflexes significantly impact attention, visual motor skills, ocular motility, and body control. Implementation of these exercises, in addition to core and bilateral integration work, will prepare the body and nervous system for learning. The vestibular system, our system that registers movement, will also be targeted to capitalize on its close link to the visual system. This preparatory work will prime the body for learning and effective integration of new skills.
(15-20 minutes)
Purpose: While dyslexia is not inherently a visual disorder, research shows that most individuals diagnosed with dyslexia also demonstrate deficits in ocular motility which influences their fluency and ease with reading. By targeting these skills, it can improve visual efficiency, reduce fatigue, and support reading fluency and comprehension.
(25–30 minutes)
Purpose: Directly target the core deficit area in dyslexia with systematic, explicit instruction.
(15–20 minutes)
Purpose: Apply motor and phonological gains directly to functional reading tasks.
