I’m Paige Faulder, M.S., CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVT, and I joined Monkey Mouths in 2016. I earned my undergraduate and master’s degrees from Texas Christian University and began my career at Cook Children’s Medical Center. During my time at Cook, I developed a passion for the hearing-impaired population, with intervention focusing specifically on developing listening and spoken language skills in infants and children in a family-centered approach. I was a member of the Cochlear Implant Team at Cook and collaborated with ENTs, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and social workers routinely to ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality patient care.
I attended the AEI (Alabama Ear Institute) Summer Institute, as well as the Texas Christian University Listening and Spoken Language Summer Institute. Both intensive, 2-week training courses consisted of lectures and hands-on practice using Auditory-Verbal techniques and strategies. In 2011, I became a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist, Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT). In addition to providing direct AVT services at Cook, I also supervised graduate student interns, clinical fellows and new hires. From 2012-2013, I served as the Rehab Services Clinic Lead.
In 2016, in addition to being a member of the Monkey Mouths team, I was also a Clinical Supervisor at the Davies School of Communication Sciences & Disorders at TCU. I supervised graduate speech-language pathology student clinicians providing family-centered intervention to children with hearing impairments under the direction of Emily Lund, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Assistant Professor.
I strongly believe that active parent participation and parent coaching in therapy sessions are key components to successful listening and spoken language outcomes. My husband, Chase and I have a young son and daughter. We love spending time together as a family, especially when it involves cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs!
As an SLP since 2007, I have training and specialization in the following:
Apraxia/Articulation:
Voice:
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT):
Hearing Differences:
